Steve Leonard, P.E., Partner/Engineer

Steve Leonard co-founded BLSE in May 2002 and serves as one of the principal engineers. He provides a wealth of knowledge and experience to every project. In addition to company management, he is involved in daily engineering production and serves as the Structural Engineer of Record on many of our architectural projects.

Steve is a native of the Pensacola Bay area and graduated from Auburn University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structures. His experience includes 11 years as a structural engineer for Samuel Johnson, Inc. along with the analysis, design and inspection of numerous commercial buildings for BLSE. He has worked with concrete, steel, masonry, and timber. Steve is a registered Professional Engineer in the states of Florida, Alabama, and Georgia and a licensed threshold inspector in the state of Florida.

Industry professionals appreciate Steve’s intuitive design solutions, his easygoing spirit, and sound engineering skills. His experience and natural ability toward structural engineering are invaluable assets for producing cost effective, construction friendly design work.

In his spare time, Steve enjoys hunting, fishing, riding dirt bikes, and taking care of a country home with his wife and three children.
